Welcome to Alston Model Railway Centre.

We can be found next to the South Tynedale Railway in Alston, Cumbria. We have 7 permanent model railway layouts in '0', '00', 'N', 'Z' and '009' gauges. We have a special 'hands on' layout for children, along with a fun quiz and 'show-you-how' features.

Our popular shop has a wide selection of new and second-hand model railway items. Locos, rolling stock, scenic accessories, tools, paints and scratch building materials. Stocked ranges include: Peco, Bachmann, Hornby, Graham Farish, Ratio, Wills, Metcalfe, Cambrian, Parkside Dundas, Woodland Scenics and Modelscene. Also Plastrut, K & S Metals, Plasticard, Precision Paints and Expo Tools.

We are happy to give advice and assistance wherever possible. We usually stock a few trainsets, and can make baseboards and layouts as required.
