Dominating the northern skyline of Keswick, Skiddaw is one of the highest of the fells in the Lake District and offers some of the best views over the town and Derwentwater Lake to its south and Bassenthwaite Lake to its west. The walking is steep but within most people's scope. Care should be taken on some of the paths. While here you might also want to visit Little Man, another pike on the slopes of Skiddaw and seen right of centre in the photograph.
If your interested in fell running try the Lakeland Slateman 3 Peaks Challenge a 40 mile run over the 3 highest peaks in England- Helvellyn, Scafell Pike & Skiddaw!
